Reading And Leeds Festival organiser re-issues fake ticket warning

Organisers for the Reading and Leeds festivals have re-issued a warning about counterfeit tickets for this year's bash.

The news comes after the company behind the events, Festival Republic, took down two fake fan pages who claimed to have free tickets to this year's Reading festival.

"It has been widely reported that there are many fake sites for all this summer's festivals," Festival Republic said in a statement "This particular scam involves people registering for free tickets and is essentially a third party phishing personal information such as email addresses."

Urging fans to only buy tickets from authorised websites, outlets and partners, this year's event will take place between August 27-29.

Featuring the headliners Guns N' Roses, Arcade Fire and Blink-182, the festival will also see The Libertines reunite for their first full gigs since they split in 2004.
