Reading & Leeds Festivals have warned fans that a ream of fake ticket


The organisers of the Reading & Leeds Festivals have warned fans that a ream of fake ticket sites have popped up on the internet. The festival has had trouble with fake websites in the past, and this year they have already taken down two website that were offering tickets under the guise of being official outlets, but were actually just websites stealing people’s information. "It has been widely reported that there are many fake sites for all this summer's festivals," Festival Republic said in a statement "This particular scam involves people registering for free tickets and is essentially a third party phishing personal information such as email addresses." Organisers are urging people searching for tickets to only use official outlets and not to try to find tickets in potentially damaging places. The festivals are due to be headlined byGuns N Roses, Blink 182 and Arcade Fireand take place on the weekend of 27-29 August.
